Internal Communciations

Internal Communications is a unit that supports academic and administrative leaders across campus with communication expertise, service, and collaboration, using a variety of media. The team ensures that internal communication is aligned with the university's brand. 

Internal Communications provides expertise in:

  • Communication strategy - planning, tactical, implementation
    directed at internal audiences (faculty, staff, students and key stakeholders)
  • Biweekly publication of student email newsletter
  • Biweekly publication of faculty/staff email newsletter
  • Faculty and staff recruitment communication
  • Management of websites, PAWS portal, web and mobile technology services
  • Development and implementation of crisis communications plan
  • Communication of employee wellness, diversity, safety and protective services
  • Student enrolment communication

Protective Services and Safety Resources

Protective Services and Safety Resources is a unit of Human Resources that supports the safety and security of the campus community through educational programming (VTRA, RAD, Verbal Judo and Violence and Threat Risk Assessment), planning (Emergency Response Plan and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design), surveillance, emergency management, hazardous materials handling, workplace ergonomics, and more.

Protective Services and Safety Resources provides expertise in:

  • Training in health, safety and security
  • Emergency management, planning, response and alerting
  • Fire prevention
  • Uniformed patrol and security
  • Safety management
  • Regulatory programming support (radiation safety, biosafety)
  • Communication of employee wellness, diversity, safety and protective services
