4.1

This Agreement applies to all employees of the University of Saskatchewan covered by the order of the Saskatchewan Labour Relations Board certifying the Association, and by any subsequent orders amending that order issued up to the date of execution of this Agreement. The Employer recognizes the Association as the exclusive bargaining agent for the employees covered by the aforementioned certification in respect of terms and conditions of employment.

No arrangements shall be made hereafter with any employee which are inconsistent with the terms of this Agreement.

4.2

All employees who now are, or hereafter become, members of the union shall maintain their membership in the union as a condition of their employment, and every new employee whose employment commences hereafter shall, within 30 days after the commencement of employment, apply for and maintain membership in the union as a condition of employment, provided that any employee in the appropriate bargaining unit who is not required to maintain membership or apply for and maintain membership in the union shall, as a condition of employment, tender to the union the periodic dues uniformly required to be paid by the members of the union.
